Kirk Turnbull - founder, composer, producer Scotland's biggest selling Dance music group are from Hawick and were founded by songwriter & producer Kirk Turnbull who works from his own studio in the Scottish Borders and in Orlando USA. The majority of their hits have been on their own independent label ‘Epidemic Records’. Their debut album 'Freedom' was released on 12th December 1994 becoming that week’s highest new entry in the UK Independent Chart at #5 and remained in the twenty for 14 weeks. The title track ‘Freedom’ was released as their debut single in June 1995 and peaked in the UK main chart at #41, becoming hugely successful worldwide club anthem. 22nd January 1996 and QFX cover the ‘Moby’ song 'Every Time You Touch Me' entering the main UK chart at #22 and earning them an appearance on the BBC TV chart show ‘Top Of The Pops. They maintained a top 40 position for three weeks in the UK while the single hit #1 in Scotland. They have released several albums and singles and have at the same time have remixed songs for other artists such as 'Gala'. Kirk spends six months of the year in the USA working with Epidemic Records USA and co-producing TV shows in Orlando while the other six is spent recording and touring with QFX in the UK and Europe and now with 'Kurt' in new act 'Starbeat'. QFX have played at the ballroom four times between 2002 and 2005 and have worldwide sales of over 4 million and have played more than 2000 live shows.
